Philosophy & Vision
My aim is to provide a comprehensive, high quality, individualised mental health care. As a psychotherapist my philosophy is founded on my belief that every patient is unique, cannot be reduced to diagnostic categories, and can be understood in terms of their personal life experience, background, identity, and potential for development and growth. As a psychiatrist I can prescribe medication when necessary, alongside therapy. I accept referrals of young people age 15-25.
Background
I trained as a a psychiatrist in the United Kingdom, where I went on to complete a specialist training in child and adolescent psychiatry. I have been living and working in Australia since 2003, with extensive experience with Queensland Health in the public mental health sector, including public child and youth mental health services, an inpatient adolescent unit, a youth detention centre, and a specialist youth outreach service. Over the last 10 years I have worked in private practice, in both in-patient and out-patient settings, and I have developed my expertise in ‘youth’ (adolescent and young adult) mental health and psychotherapy.

Therapy Approach
I work flexibly and respond to each patient’s individual needs and expectations, taking an informal and conversational approach, to build an authentic and trusting therapeutic relationship. My aim is to use therapy to help you develop your sense of self, identity and sense of your own future, and to help you navigate current life challenges such as relationships, work stress or academic stress.

We’re located in a heritage building on Wickham Terrace, directly opposite Central Train Station in Brisbane. There are several parking options within walking distance of Wickham House, including nearby car parks and on-street metered parking.
Appointments
I am currently accepting new patients, with referrals welcome from GPs, paediatricians and other specialists.
Fees & Insurance
Appointments are eligible for Medicare rebates when you have a valid referral from a GP/specialist. If you're unsure which rebate or fee options apply to you, patient concierge team is happy to help you work through it.
Payment Options
Fees, along with details of applicable Medicare rebates, can be discussed directly with my patient concierge team, who can also explain how Medicare safety net thresholds may apply to your care. I accept EFTPOS, direct debit and credit card payments.
