Philosophy & Vision

I believe good therapy starts with feeling genuinely heard, understood and comfortable enough to be honest about what's really going on. I don't believe therapy is one-size-fits-all. I take the time to understand your story, what you've been carrying, what has shaped you and what matters to you, then work alongside you to make sense of what's happening and what you want to change.

I work with couples and individuals navigating relationship difficulties, communication and conflict, betrayal and rebuilding trust, anxiety, overwhelm, low mood and life changes. My couples work draws on Gottman Couples Method, including the Trust Revival Method for Affairs & Addiction and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), alongside CBT, ACT, CPT and Trauma training.

My approach is warm, calm and down-to-earth, with practical tools and space to understand what's happening beneath the surface.

Background

Before entering private practice, I spent more than 20 years working in leadership and management roles, developing experience in working with people, navigating complex situations, managing change and supporting teams through challenging periods. This experience has continued to influence the way I work as a counsellor, particularly my understanding of the pressures that work, responsibility and relationships can place on us.

During my time in private practice, I have been supporting individuals and couples through relationship difficulties, anxiety, overwhelm, life changes, betrayal and other challenging experiences. Alongside my clinical experience, I've continued to undertake professional training in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including the Gottman Method, EFT, CBT, ACT and CPT.

    Therapy Approach

My approach is warm, collaborative and tailored to each person or couple. I believe the therapeutic relationship matters, so I take time to understand your experiences, relationships, emotions and patterns before deciding what may be most helpful.

My work draws on evidence-based approaches including the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, including the Trust Revival Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), CBT, ACT and CPT, alongside trauma-informed care.

I combine these approaches with practical strategies to help you understand what's happening, manage difficult emotions, communicate more effectively and work towards meaningful change.
