Philosophy & Vision
I'm Delaney, a fully registered counsellor (ACA Level 4, PACFA Clinical) and ACA-Accredited Supervisor, working online across Australia. After several years in EAP and national mental health settings, I moved into private practice to offer more personalised, trauma-informed care.
I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship or family conflict, grief, and life transitions. Many clients are also exploring the complexity of growing up between cultures, often with a heart for the Asian-Australian experience, or where faith and mental health intersect, wanting a space where faith is welcomed, not set aside.
My approach is integrative, drawing on Person-Centred, CBT, ACT, Narrative, and Solution-Focused therapies, tailored to you rather than a fixed formula. Sessions are warm and collaborative, at a pace that feels right for you. Whatever brought you here, you don't need to have it figured out first.
Background
After completing my Master of Counselling, I spent several years working in the Digital Mental Health Space for a national mental health not-for-profit and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), supporting people through crisis, workplace stress, and the everyday complexity of life. That work taught me a lot about resilience, and about how much people can carry quietly before ever reaching out for help.
I moved into private practice to offer more personalised, in-depth support than shorter-term EAP models allow. I'm also an ACA-Accredited Supervisor, providing clinical supervision to fellow counsellors. Across 8 years in the field, my focus has stayed the same: creating a space where people feel genuinely met, not managed.
Services
Sessions are fully online via Zoom, Australia-wide. No referral required. Individual counselling is $150 per session; clinical supervision is $120 (individual) or $90 per person for group (2-hour sessions, capped at 6). Payment is due at booking, via bank transfer or EFT. I'm recognised by several private health funds for extras rebates such as AHM, Bupa, HCF, Medibank, Police Health, Teachers Health but please check your specific policy. I'm also a SIRA-Approved Provider for workers compensation and CTP counselling referrals.
Quality Provision
I hold current registration with both the Australian Counselling Association (ACA Level 4) and PACFA (Clinical Member), and practise within their codes of ethics and professional standards.
As an ACA-Accredited Supervisor, I also engage in my own regular clinical supervision which is a non-negotiable part of safe, accountable practice. I maintain ongoing professional development to keep my clinical knowledge current, and welcome feedback at any point in our work together.

Therapy Approach
My approach is integrative and trauma-informed. I don't work from a single fixed model, but draw on Person-Centred, CBT, ACT, Narrative, and Solution-Focused therapies, tailored to what actually fits you. I have a growing interest in attachment-based work, including EFT.
What matters most to me is the relationship itself: a space where you're genuinely heard, not managed or moved through a checklist. Shaped by my own cross-cultural and faith experience, I bring particular expertise to Asian-Australian and cross-cultural identity, and Christian / faith-integrated counselling; though never assumed, only explored if it's meaningful to you.

My path to choosing counselling as a profession started early - growing up around family experience of mental health, and a genuine fascination with why people behave the way they do (a curiosity Criminal Minds did nothing to discourage). I studied a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and while an Honours pathway to registration as a psychologist didn't work out, a handful of counselling units during that degree changed everything. I saw, firsthand, how much active listening alone could instil hope and facilitate real change.
That led me to a Graduate Diploma of Counselling and a Master of Counselling, which gave me the clinical frameworks I still draw on — CBT, person-centred practice. But what actually shaped how I practise came from somewhere less structured: encountering trauma-informed care, and the shift it asks of us — from "what's wrong with you?" to "what happened to you?" It's a question I hear echoed constantly by clients who've moved through the mental health system searching for real hope, particularly within faith communities and among first- and second-generation immigrants.
