Philosophy & Vision
The ethos of my work respects that each person has a unique life experience and perspective that is worthy of deep listening, non-judgement and understanding.
I am formally trained in humanistic and person-centered modalities and frameworks and have a relational approach. I partake in ongoing continued professional development, specialised training and interventions to support working with teenagers, mid-life, families, couples, anxiety, stress and trauma. I work alongside people from all walks of life and I have a special interest working with perimenopausal women.
As a relationship counsellor, I work with individuals, couples and families. I also offer individual and group supervision for counsellors.
Background
I'm a late starter to the field of counselling and psychotherapy and I have a bunch of experience and knowledge in seemingly unrelated fields in teaching, photography and yoga. However, it all seems to have come together and made sense after finally landing in my forever career as a psychotherapist and university educator.
I have an eclectic approach that brings in problem focused and relational approaches. However, the foundation of my work is deeply nestled within the practice of person-centered counselling skills.
I work with individuals, couples and families and I offer sessions in person and online.

Being a counsellor and psychotherapist connects me to work that is lifelong, meaningful and impactful. I enjoy helping people begin to see their life with more clarity, experience more moments of peace and to strengthen a relationship to their true sense of self so they can experience more of the life they want to live.

I am both problem focused and relationally focused in my approach. I am highly influenced by the works of Carl Rogers and the Person Centered approach and Carl Jung and the process of meaning making through symbols, story and dreams.
