Philosophy & Vision
I'm a caring and compassionate psychologist with many years of counselling experience. My focus is centred on creating a safe and collaborative therapeutic relationship, in which you can feel comfortable to express what you need to, including those things that may be difficult to say. From this foundation, I draw on a range of evidence based therapies to support you in working towards what you hope to achieve from counselling.
While I enjoy working with a diversity of people, I have a particular interest in helping women navigate the opportunities and complexities of midlife. This phase can bring significant change, often in many areas of our lives - physical health and well being, relationships, career, and even our sense of identity and purpose. While these experiences can feel overwhelming, they can also be fertile catalyst for developing a deeper connection with our authentic selves and creating a life more aligned with this.
Background
I have been registered as a psychologist since 1995, a profession I was drawn to through my passion for growth, change and helping people. Holding a deep belief in the capacity of everyone to develop to realise their potential, I value the opportunity to share in the process of creating meaningful and connected lives.
Throughout my psychology career, I have worked in a range of capacities in the government, not-for-profit and private sectors. This has encompassed extensive therapeutic engagement with individuals and families, as well as psychological assessment and behaviour support. In 2011 I returned to work in counselling, the area of psychological practice about which I am most passionate.
