Philosophy & Vision

O lord, thy sea is so great, and my boat is so small. I love the truth and shared humanity in this old Breton fisherman's prayer. By extension, I think of good therapy as a safe harbour where we can rest, repair and renavigate from.

As a psychotherapist trained in Hakomi and Gestalt therapies, my first priority is to help you slow down and tune in to your deeper, wiser self. Alongside this I embrace imagery, metaphors, and dreams to help explore what plain language alone can't quite reach.

I typically work with clients on trauma, anxiety and existential meaning, however having worked as a crisis supporter at Lifeline for over 10 years I have a broad base of experience.

I hold Clinical Registration with PACFA and work online from Maitland, NSW.

Background

In my 20s I worked for a wonderful community development organisation in inner Sydney, editing their publications and taking a lot of minutes for meetings.
In my 30s I had 3 kids and took my communications skills into the more mortgage-friendly territory of working in local government.
In my 40s I pivoted into change management and began working in state government.
After a standard mid-life crisis, I started asking myself what I really wanted to do and trying things out - including volunteering at Lifeline. After five years of still loving this work, I began formal studies in Gestalt and then Hakomi psychotherapy. I started my own private practice and hope to continue this work until I can't.
