Philosophy & Vision
I’m Rob, a gay psychotherapist and counsellor. I work particularly with GBTQ+ men around relationships, identity, anxiety, self-worth and self-understanding. My approach is non-pathologising, which means I don’t see you as a problem that needs fixing or assume that there is something wrong with you. Instead, I’m interested in understanding what makes sense about the way you’ve come to be where you are, including the experiences and relationships that have shaped you.
Background
Originally from London in the UK, I've been living in Melbourne for nearly 10 years. I couple my work as a therapist with work as a languages teacher.
I'm a fully qualified gestalt practitioner and have professional experience working as a TAFE campus counsellor and as a crisis line telephone counsellor for the LGBTQIA+ community. I also have my own lived experience of being HIV+ and growing up gay, which I believe provides me with an understanding of many of the issues facing queer people.
Services
I work in-person in Melbourne and online Australia-wide. I can currently offer discounted rates for online sessions during daytime hours.

Rather than following a rigid structure, I often invite reflection and awareness through gentle inquiry. Questions you may hear from me might include:
What are you noticing in your body right now?
What happens for you when you say that out loud?
What feels most important about this for you today?
Where do you notice that in your body?
What feels familiar about this pattern?
These kinds of questions help you build awareness and deepen understanding, allowing new choices and responses to e
