Philosophy & Vision
I have a holistic view of what it means to be a person and so I take a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach to therapy. Our hearts, minds, souls, bodies and social connectedness are interrelated on many levels. When we are in a state of dis-ease, all dimensions need attention and this is most effectively achieved with the help of a compassionate, non-judgmental, skilled clinician. I practice unconditional positive regard and believe that no-one is beyond hope or help.
Background
I have lived and worked in three countries. I have worked with people from all walks of life, holding divergent world views and experiencing a range of different life issues. I know from personal experience that there is a way through every type of struggle we face and that there is always hope, even though we may be currently blinded by the tremors or tears.
Services
I provide a safe, confidential, private environment together with a commitment to seeking understanding of your world in the way you experience it. I will companion with you at your pace as you seek to identify, acknowledge, explore and resolve the dynamics in your life that may be causing dis-ease. People typically seek my help with issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, grief, loss, trauma, addictions and overcoming stress from past issues. You are guaranteed privacy (no big waiting rooms or admin staff, and very little chance of bumping into someone you know because of the way sessions are spaced). No referrals necessary.
Quality Provision
I maintain current registrations as a counsellor, clinical supervisor, social worker and minister of religion and abide by the Codes of Ethics of the professional associations to which I belong. I visit both a clinical supervisor once a month, participate in regular continuing professional development, and practice effective self care to ensure the best me for my clients.
