Philosophy & Vision
I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, Registered Clinical Psychotherapist, Senior Registered Clinical Counsellor, and Supervisor with over two decades of clinical experience. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and attachment difficulties, sleep problems, and recurring emotional or life patterns.
I believe that symptoms often have meaning. While many therapies focus primarily on symptom relief, depth-oriented psychotherapy seeks to understand the underlying patterns, relationships, and unconscious influences that shape our lives. I am particularly interested in working with people who feel stuck, are curious about themselves, and are seeking meaningful and lasting change rather than symptom management alone.
My aim is to help clients develop greater self-understanding, freedom, and the capacity for meaningful and lasting change. I welcome both short-term focused work and longer-term
Background
I began my career in South Africa before continuing my clinical work in New Zealand and later Australia. Since 2003, I have worked across public mental health services, hospitals, community organisations, and private practice.
For more than a decade, I worked within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing a wide range of psychological difficulties. Following my move to Australia, I worked within an Aboriginal health service as Counselling Team Leader, supporting counselling services and social and emotional wellbeing programs.
Alongside these roles, I have maintained a private practice and continue to provide psychotherapy, counselling, and supervision.
Services
I offer counselling, psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and online video consultations. Sessions are available both in person and via telehealth, providing flexibility for clients across Australia.
I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment and relationship difficulties, sleep problems, and recurring emotional or life patterns. Depending on individual needs, I offer both short-term focused work and longer-term depth-oriented psychotherapy.
My approach is tailored to each person, drawing on psychoanalytic psychotherapy, EMDR, depth psychology, and integrative therapeutic approaches to support meaningful and lasting change.
Quality Provision
I am committed to providing a professional, ethical, and client-centred service. Sessions are available both in person and via secure telehealth. As a Senior Registered Clinical Counsellor, Registered Clinical Psychotherapist, and Supervisor, I engage in ongoing professional development, supervision, and evidence-informed practice. I work collaboratively with clients to provide a respectful and supportive environment that promotes meaningful and lasting change.

Therapy Approach
My approach is grounded in psychoanalytic and depth-oriented psychotherapy. I view symptoms not simply as problems to remove, but as meaningful expressions of underlying emotional experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns. In a collaborative, trauma-informed space, we explore what may be shaping your present difficulties, always at a pace that feels manageable. I work integratively, drawing on EMDR and mind-body awareness when helpful. Dreams, recurring themes, and formative experiences may also offer valuable insight. The aim is not only relief, but deeper self-understanding, greater freedom of choice, and meaningful, lasting change. I welcome both short-term focused work and longer-term psychotherapy.
