Philosophy & Vision
The process of therapy aims to help you better understand the source of your distress, as well as the thoughts and feelings that keep you stuck. In time, offering the possibility of letting go of self limiting beliefs and behaviours that are no longer necessary or desirable.
Background
My training and experience includes my qualifications, extensive and varied work experience as well as my own psychotherapy and a period of personal/training Jungian analysis.
I believe that people can fulfil their potential and live well if given the support and assistance to work towards overcoming personal barriers and develop their own resources.
Services
I aim to establish a collaborative relationship, where I help you to learn how to access knowledge and resources within yourself, so you are more resourced to create and build or rebuild the life you want.
Quality Provision
Mandatory professional supervision and ongoing professional development are requirements of registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

My work is informed by relationally based therapies incorporating an understanding of the influence of early attachment relationships in shaping our mind and body, and the ongoing impact of relationships in the formation and maintenance of psychological and emotional functioning.
I have been working therapeutically with adults who have experienced trauma for the last decade. Previously I worked as a psychologist in palliative care and psycho-oncology.
I am currently an advanced student completing somatic training and I incorporate somatic techniques into my work. I maintain regular supervision and ongoing professional development as part of my own personal and professional development.

I believe in people's potential and knew I wanted to help people.
I studied psychology at university and then went looking for something more meaningful to me and that's when I enrolled in the transpersonal counselling diploma.
I started working with a psychotherapist and through my relationship with her and looking at my dreams I learnt about Jung, dreams and the process of Individuation. -
I've spent a lot of time reading Jung and I am very influenced by the work of Marie-Louise von Franz and Barbara Hannah, two extraordinary female Jungian analysts.
-
I am interested in growth, in people healing through becoming more conscious, more authentic.

The relationship between therapist and client is fundamental to the healing process. I work with the exchange in the relationship to continue to build the relationship and to facilitate shared understanding of the person's difficulties.
I pay attention to that which is unconscious and wanting to make itself known, either through the person's dreams, drawing, writing or physical symptom/s. -
People can express a feeling of relief after their first session, from having talked about what is meaningful to them and having experienced being listened to. It can take time for the relationship to feel comfortable and the work to unfold, there are many factors at play.

Jungian Analyst, Robert Johnson's books - He, She and We have been very influential in understanding feminine and masculine psychology.
